The Brighton Police Department is offering an eight-week Citizens’ Police Academy on Tuesday nights from January 8 through February 26, 2013. Topics of the academy may include traffic enforcement, crime solvability factors, the crime scene investigation process, the judicial system, police training, etc. The classes will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Brighton Police Department, with possible off-site tours of the Monroe County Jail, the Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility, and the Office of Emergency Communications (911 Center).
This session of the CPA will be limited to 25 students, and preference will be given to Brighton residents. To register for this free Citizens’ Police Academy, fill out the application and return it to Sgt. David Swancott, Brighton Police Department, 2300 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY, 14618.
